Egas Port, Lava flow - Galapagos
Description:
Due to past volcanic activity Santiago Island constitutes a fascinating place to enjoy beautiful black sand beaches and appreciate volcanic tuff deposits that reflect the island’s formation. The island’s crater has a salt water lake that dries in the summer and becomes a salt mine. Along the coast one can walk amidst a lava flow covered in vegetation where, due to its unique characteristics, it is possible to observe sea lions, lava lizards and herons (hunter, blue, lava, and nocturnal yellow).
