El Angel Ecological Reserve (Polylepis Forest)
Description:
In “El Angel ecological reserve”, with average temperatures during the day between 5 and 18 degrees Celsius you will find the Polylepis trees, locally known as “tree paper” due to the similarity of its reddish brown bark with the paper. The twisted trunks of great antiquity along with the Highlands mist give to the polylepis forest a magical atmosphere that is very similar to the fairy tales forests.
